With only one cylinder block per step, it’s easy for children to put each block away, and the step formation gives increased visibility to each block.

Our Cylinder Blocks are made of solid beechwood, and each block is designed to hold 4 cylinders of varying height and diameter. Specially designed for toddlers ages 18 months to 3 years.

Information: 
The cylinder blocks are ten wooden cylinders of various dimensions that can be removed from a fitted container block using a knobbed handle. To remove the cylinders, the child tends to naturally use the same three-finger grip used to hold pencils.

Several activities can be done with the cylinder blocks. The main activity involves removing the cylinders from the block and replacing them again in the spot that one got them from. The control of error is constituted in the child's inability to replace a cylinder in the wrong hole.

This wooden Montessori box features five holes of different diameters on the top surface. Beneath the holes, there is a flat sliding plate that temporarily holds the cylinders in place. Inside the box is a slanted ramp.

The child places the five wooden cylinders (same height, different diameters) into the corresponding holes — but they don’t fall through immediately. The sliding plate underneath prevents them from dropping.

The Pressure Cylinders provide experiences in pairing and grading degrees of pressure

By pressing the spring-loaded plungers, the child senses the difference in resistance pressure. 

The material consists of a specially designed work tray containing 5 matching pairs of cylinders.

The Smelling Cylinders  are to refine the olfactory sense through matching.

The teacher prepares the bottles with a variety of pairs of scents.
